News Desk: The shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai was allegedly the result of an eight-month-long conspiracy involving members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Investigators have uncovered details of an elaborate plan involving three separate teams, each assigned specific responsibilities to carry out the attack, according to sources familiar with the investigation.
The incident took place on the evening of October 18, when at least two unidentified men allegedly opened fire at the actor's car as he was leaving Pushpa Narsee Park, also known as Pushpa Narsee Ground, in Juhu after playing football. The attack raised serious concerns about the safety of celebrities in Mumbai.
Shortly after the shooting, Anil Pandit, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the incident. The gang reportedly cited Tiger Shroff's association with actor Salman Khan, who has previously been targeted by the group over the blackbuck poaching case.
According to investigators, the conspiracy was carefully organised, with the participants divided into three specialised groups.
The first team was responsible for conducting reconnaissance and gathering information about the target. The second group handled the procurement of firearms, while the third team was tasked with transporting the weapons to Mumbai.
Anil Pandit allegedly played a central role in the operation by arranging substantial financial support for the conspiracy. Investigators suspect that the attack was not only intended to create fear but also to strengthen the gang's influence and facilitate extortion within the film industry.
Encrypted Apps Used for Communication
Investigators have also discovered that the accused allegedly relied on encrypted messaging applications, including Signal and Zangi, to communicate throughout the planning period.
These platforms reportedly helped the conspirators maintain contact without using conventional mobile-number-based registration. Police are now examining the digital conversations to reconstruct the entire conspiracy and establish the roles played by different individuals.
Three accused persons, identified as Rehan, Pranjal and Kunal, are among the 11 people arrested so far. Investigators believe they were in direct contact with the alleged mastermind, Anil Pandit, through these applications.
Decoding the conversations has become a major challenge for the investigating team as officials attempt to trace the mastermind and identify other people involved in the operation.
The case has also seen a significant legal development, with 11 suspects reportedly re-arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to examine the financial transactions, communication records and wider network allegedly involved in the attack.
