News Desk: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s upcoming film Ramayana: Part One has made an impressive start at the advance booking counters, outperforming Prabhas-starrer Adipurush by more than 120% in first-day pre-sales. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the ambitious mythological film has already crossed one lakh advance tickets, with several days still remaining before its theatrical release.
Advance bookings for Ramayana: Part One began on Dussehra, October 20, giving the film an unusually long booking window ahead of its November 5 release. On the first day, when sales were primarily open for the Hindi version, the film sold more than 65,000 tickets and earned approximately ₹3.13 crore in gross pre-sales.
The figure is around 123% higher than the first-day advance booking collection of Adipurush. The Prabhas-led film had sold nearly 36,000 Hindi tickets in its first 24 hours of pre-sales, generating around ₹1.40 crore. Its advance bookings increased significantly after the Telugu version opened the following day.
Ramayana has now reportedly reached ₹6.25 crore in advance booking gross. The Kannada, Telugu and Tamil versions have contributed around ₹50 lakh so far, as bookings for these versions have only begun on a limited scale.
The Hindi version is recording occupancy of around 15–20% in several major cities, with more than 900 screens open for bookings. The Kannada version, despite being available on fewer than 100 screens, has also shown encouraging signs, with some centres reporting morning-show occupancy of up to 72%.
The film’s makers are expected to benefit further as advance bookings for the Kannada and Telugu versions expand. Yash’s popularity, particularly among audiences in southern India, could help boost ticket sales as more shows become available.
Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.
Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita, and Yash takes on the role of Ravana. The cast also includes Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
The first instalment is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, while the second part is planned for Diwali 2027. The films are expected to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with a worldwide IMAX release also planned.
While the strong advance bookings indicate considerable audience interest, the film’s eventual box-office performance will depend on its opening-day turnout and audience response after release.
