News Desk: Actor Allu Arjun has praised Rajinikanth’s latest film Jailer 2, calling it a showcase of the superstar’s screen presence, style and charisma. The Tamil action entertainer has enjoyed a strong run at the box office since its release on October 15, crossing ₹575 crore in worldwide collections within its first week.
Sharing his review on X, Allu Arjun described the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial as a commercial entertainer that keeps audiences engaged with its high-energy action and Rajinikanth’s star power.
He also praised music composer Anirudh Ravichander, appreciating his contribution to the film’s overall impact. Allu Arjun congratulated the director, cast, technicians and producer Kalanithi Maran for their work on the project.
In a particularly memorable remark, the Telugu star said that only Rajinikanth could cross the ₹500-crore mark without even getting his shirt torn, referring humorously to the veteran actor’s distinctive screen style and effortless appeal.
The film has reportedly collected ₹317.20 crore in net domestic earnings in India, while its overseas collection stands at around ₹205 crore. Its worldwide gross reached approximately ₹576.45 crore before the end of its first week, according to the reported figures.
With these numbers, Jailer 2 has emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026 so far. It has also surpassed the reported worldwide earnings of several recent releases.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the sequel sees Rajinikanth return as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The story follows the character as he confronts new enemies linked to an idol-smuggling network while attempting to protect his family and uncover the truth surrounding his son’s death.
The film features Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa and Rithvik, alongside new cast members including Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu and S. J. Suryah.
Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music, which has also received attention from audiences.
The sequel has reportedly received a favourable response from both critics and viewers, helping it maintain momentum at the box office.
