News Desk: A member of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party communication team has gone missing while travelling on a train from Ranchi in Jharkhand to Patna in Bihar. Devpalik Gupta, who worked as a digital communication manager for the party, reportedly disappeared from the Janshatabdi Express on Monday, October 26. A search operation has been launched, and railway authorities are examining CCTV footage to establish what happened.

According to his friend and colleague Gautam Kumar, Gupta boarded the train at Ranchi railway station with him at around 2:25 pm. Approximately 10 minutes after the train departed, Gupta told his companions that he was going to the pantry car to get something to eat.

However, he did not return to his seat.

Kumar and the others subsequently went to the pantry car to look for him. When they could not find him there, they searched the other coaches of the train but failed to locate him.

The group raised the matter with the Government Railway Police (GRP) when the train stopped at Muri Junction, its first stop after Ranchi.

CCTV Footage Under Examination

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have begun investigating the disappearance. Sanjeev Singh, the RPF inspector at Muri Junction, said authorities were analysing CCTV footage from the station.

According to the officer, preliminary findings indicated that Gupta had not got off the train at Muri Junction. His mobile phone was also switched off, adding to concerns about his whereabouts.

A joint team comprising local police and RPF personnel has been deployed to search for him. Officials are examining the available information to determine how he disappeared during the journey.

No further details about his whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding the incident had been confirmed at the time of the report.

Who Is Devpalik Gupta?

Gupta was associated with the Jan Suraaj Party as a digital communication manager. He is also an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Delhi.

The incident has raised concern among his colleagues and acquaintances, who are awaiting further information from the authorities.

The investigation is continuing, with police and railway officials working to trace Gupta and establish the sequence of events following his departure from Ranchi.

Authorities have not yet disclosed any confirmed explanation for his disappearance. Further details are awaited as the search operation progresses.
