Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were spotted with their daughter Raha and grandmother Neetu Kapoor during their Ganesh visarjan celebrations in Mumbai on Friday evening.
The Kapoor family dressed in traditional outfits for the occasion and gathered at their residence before heading out for the visarjan. Ranbir was seen carrying the Ganpati idol as he chanted “Ganpati Bappa Morya.” He wore a rust-orange kurta with white pyjamas for the celebration.
Neetu Kapoor, dressed in a blue kurta set, accompanied him while holding a traditional puja thali. Alia Bhatt wore a pink and green kurta set and kept Raha close to her throughout the gathering.
Raha, dressed in pastel colours, stayed close to her mother as photographers captured the family. At one point, Alia was seen walking backwards while holding Raha, seemingly trying to shield her daughter from the camera flashes.
The family briefly posed for photographs before making their way inside. The moment once again highlighted the couple’s efforts to keep their daughter away from constant media attention.
Alia and Ranbir's decision over Raha's pictures
Ranbir and Alia have previously requested photographers to avoid taking pictures and videos of Raha. Their decision came after a wider discussion among Bollywood families about protecting children from intense paparazzi attention.
The couple has largely avoided sharing clear pictures of their daughter on social media. When Raha appears in photographs shared by Alia, her face is generally covered or not clearly visible.
The family has continued to maintain this approach during public appearances, with Alia and Ranbir often making an effort to keep Raha away from direct camera attention.
Ranbir and Alia's upcoming projects
Ranbir Kapoor has been away from the big screen since his 2023 releases Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Animal. He is currently working on Nitesh Tiwari's two-part Ramayana, in which he plays Lord Rama. Sai Pallavi plays Sita, while Yash portrays Ravana.
The first part of Ramayana is scheduled for release during Diwali, with the second instalment planned for 2027. Ranbir is also working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Love & War, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
Alia, meanwhile, was recently seen in the spy thriller Alpha. She is also part of Love & War and has Tumbbad 2 lined up with Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
The actor is also associated with the upcoming Prime Video project Don't Be Shy, which is scheduled to begin streaming later this month.
For the Kapoor family, Friday's Ganesh visarjan was a traditional family celebration, with Ranbir carrying the idol and Alia making sure Raha remained protected from the intense paparazzi attention surrounding the event.
