YouTube star MrBeast has announced what he describes as the biggest video of his career, revealing that the mystery project has taken years to make and cost around $10 million.
The creator, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, shared the news on X, immediately sparking curiosity among his millions of followers. He said he has personally spent more than 1,000 hours working on the project and that it has occupied his thoughts for a long time.
“This Saturday we upload our biggest YouTube video ever,” Donaldson wrote. He added that the project had been in development for years, involved around $10 million in spending and had taken more than 1,000 hours of his personal time.
Despite the enormous investment, MrBeast appeared to play down expectations about how the video might perform. In another post, he suggested that the project may not become one of his biggest hits in terms of views.
He explained that the video was something he personally cared deeply about and said he hoped that his enthusiasm for the project would come through when viewers watched it.
Donaldson has not revealed what the video is actually about, leaving fans to speculate about its scale and subject.
Some followers believe the mystery project could involve a major charity initiative, while others have suggested an ambitious exploration or documentary-style production. The size of the reported budget has also led some viewers to wonder whether the video could involve elaborate sets, locations or a large production team.
The announcement comes as MrBeast continues to expand his work beyond traditional YouTube videos. Earlier this year, he said his company, Beast Industries, would produce a second season of Best Games, titled Strong vs Smart. The project is expected to feature 100 participants competing around physical strength and intelligence, with a reported $5 million prize.
Donaldson has also been experimenting with artificial intelligence and technology. He recently partnered with Gemini and Google Health on a project exploring how AI could be used to support ambitious ideas involving fitness, wellness and challenging environments.
In a video released on September 5, MrBeast and his team travelled through difficult landscapes, including jungle and desert environments, while using Gemini to help identify dangers and deal with harsh conditions.
His latest announcement, however, remains largely a mystery. Fans have been left with only the promise that the new upload represents a major investment of time, money and effort.
