New Delhi: Ramlila Maidan witnessed a massive turnout on Sunday as leaders and supporters of the INDIA bloc gathered in the national capital for a major political rally. The gathering drew large crowds from different parts of the country, with the venue and surrounding areas reportedly becoming increasingly packed as more participants arrived.
The enthusiasm among supporters was evident throughout the event. However, the huge turnout also created difficulties for many attendees, with some participants deciding to leave early after finding little space to stand, both inside and outside the venue.
Several people said that the crowd had become so dense that moving around was difficult. Despite their decision to return, many described the rally as a major success and expressed satisfaction at being part of the gathering.
Krishna Dubey, a participant who travelled from Chhattisgarh, said the experience had been worth the journey. However, with hardly any space available, he decided to head back.
"It is a very successful rally. We are glad we came, but we are now going back because there is no space to even stand," Dubey said.
He also praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that the rally had demonstrated his political potential and ability to draw people together.
The massive turnout has added to the political significance of the INDIA bloc's show of strength in Delhi. Leaders from several opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Tejashwi Yadav, were among the prominent faces associated with the gathering.
The rally is being viewed as an important attempt by opposition parties to demonstrate unity and mobilise supporters around their common political concerns.
With crowds continuing to gather and some participants leaving due to overcrowding, Ramlila Maidan emerged as the centre of a major political gathering in the capital on Sunday.
