Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh recently shared a heartwarming story about a paparazzo who helped him during an unexpected moment in Mumbai.
Speaking to The SCREEN, Riteish recalled stepping out of a restaurant when a child approached him and offered something for ₹100. The actor wanted to buy it but realised he was not carrying any cash. Since he generally relies on digital payments, he asked the child if he could pay through GPay. However, the child did not accept the digital payment.
That was when a paparazzo who was photographing Riteish stepped forward and offered to pay for him.
Riteish said he initially did not know the photographer's name, but later identified him as Sushil Mohite. The paparazzo simply told him that he would pay the ₹100.
The actor was touched by the gesture. After taking a picture with the photographer, Riteish left the spot but later told his wife, Genelia D'Souza, about what had happened. He wanted to return the money to the photographer but had no way of contacting him.
Riteish then turned to social media for help and shared the incident on his Instagram Stories in an attempt to locate the paparazzo. His effort eventually worked, and he was able to contact the photographer and return the money.
Reflecting on the experience, Riteish said the incident changed the way he viewed paparazzi. According to the actor, celebrities often assume that photographers are around them simply to capture their pictures, but there are also moments when they genuinely step forward to help.
He described the photographer's gesture as an act of kindness and said it was something he would remember.
The story comes at a time when the relationship between Bollywood celebrities and paparazzi continues to attract attention. While some stars maintain friendly relationships with photographers, others have spoken openly about the need for personal boundaries.
Actor Taapsee Pannu recently addressed her own strained relationship with paparazzi after being compared with veteran actor Jaya Bachchan for her stance on photographers. Taapsee said she has clear boundaries and does not believe in abusing or shouting at people, while also maintaining that she does not want to be treated disrespectfully.
Riteish, meanwhile, was last seen in Dhamaal 4. His story about the paparazzo has highlighted a more personal side of the often hectic relationship between celebrities and photographers, showing that behind the cameras, small acts of kindness can create meaningful moments.
