Mirzapur: The Movie races past ₹100 crore worldwide

Mirzapur: The Movie has made a strong start at the box office, crossing the ₹100-crore mark worldwide within its opening weekend. The gangster drama has earned ₹132 crore globally after three days, emerging as one of the biggest Hindi film successes of the year so far.

The film opened in theatres on September 4 and recorded a strong response, particularly in mass centres across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It collected around ₹25 crore on Friday before jumping to ₹32 crore on Saturday. Sunday brought another boost, with the film earning about ₹36 crore.

Its three-day domestic collection stood at ₹93.75 crore net, while the gross collection reached ₹112.35 crore. The Hindi version recorded nearly 67% occupancy on Sunday, with night shows approaching 75% across the country.

The film has also performed well overseas. After a relatively slow start internationally, collections picked up over the weekend. By Sunday, the movie had earned around $2.1 million overseas, taking its worldwide gross to ₹132 crore.

The strong weekend has pushed Mirzapur: The Movie into the top 10 highest-grossing Hindi films of 2026. With its current worldwide gross, it sits at eighth place in the list. Its success has also seen it move past films such as Alpha, Main Vaapas Aaunga and Raja Shivaji in worldwide collections.

The film has also overtaken Hanuman Ansh, which had collected around ₹125 crore worldwide by Sunday. The strong day-to-day performance of Mirzapur: The Movie has therefore put it ahead of the devotional film.

The movie brings together several familiar faces from the Mirzapur universe. Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu lead the cast, while Jitendra Kumar joins the franchise in a key role. Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Shweta Tripathi and several other actors are also part of the ensemble.

Directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment. Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have produced it under the Excel Entertainment banner, with Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani serving as co-producers.

With a ₹132-crore worldwide opening weekend already in the bag, the film now has a clear opportunity to turn its strong start into a major theatrical success in the coming days.
