Actor Govinda’s recent appearance with his rumoured girlfriend Komal Rani Swarnkar at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja has sparked fresh discussion around his personal life. Soon after the actor was seen at the Ganpati pandal, actress Kashmera Shah shared a cryptic social media post about “homewreckers”, leading many users to believe that her comments were aimed at the ongoing controversy surrounding Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja.
Kashmera, who is married to comedian Krushna Abhishek, Govinda’s nephew, shared a picture on Instagram on Wednesday along with a strongly worded message. Without naming anyone, she wrote that she could not understand why people were “glamorising” a mystery woman and urged people to stop glorifying women who allegedly interfere in marriages.
She further criticised the idea of idolising men who leave their wives for younger women and called for greater morality and sanity in society.
Although Kashmera did not mention Govinda, Sunita or Komal by name, her post quickly attracted attention online. Several social media users interpreted the message as support for Sunita Ahuja amid the ongoing speculation about her relationship with Govinda.
Some users thanked Kashmera for appearing to stand by Sunita, while others praised her for speaking openly about the issue. However, Kashmera herself did not clarify whom she was referring to in the post.
The controversy intensified after Govinda was spotted at Lalbaugcha Raja with Komal Rani Swarnkar. Komal is also set to appear opposite Govinda in their upcoming film Roopa. A video showing the two together at the popular Mumbai Ganpati pandal circulated widely on social media.
Govinda’s visit reportedly took place only hours after Sunita Ahuja had visited the same pandal alone to offer prayers. The contrasting appearances quickly became a talking point online.
Later, Sunita was seen at Mumbai airport with her pet dog. While speaking to photographers, she made remarks about betrayal and said that animals were better than people because they remained loyal. Although she did not directly name Govinda, her comments were widely interpreted in the context of the recent developments.
Govinda and Sunita married in 1987 and have been together for several decades. Their relationship has faced repeated speculation in recent years, particularly after reports surfaced about alleged differences between the couple.
In December, reports claimed that Sunita had filed for divorce in a family court. However, the couple was later seen together during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in 2025, appearing to put those reports into question.
Sunita subsequently spoke about Govinda’s alleged relationships during appearances on podcasts. In 2026, Govinda was seen with Komal on multiple occasions, leading to further speculation about their equation.
Sunita had earlier criticised Govinda over his association with Komal, while Govinda responded by warning against statements that could damage his reputation.
In August, Sunita was seen visiting a family court, but she did not disclose the reason for her visit. Govinda’s manager later confirmed that Sunita had withdrawn her divorce petition.
Sunita subsequently made claims about a possible marriage between Govinda and Komal during a conversation with Rakhi Sawant. However, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, rejected the claim and said there was no question of Govinda entering into a second marriage.
Against this backdrop, Kashmera’s latest social media post has added another layer to the ongoing public discussion surrounding Govinda and Sunita’s relationship.
