Jaipur, September 16: Four people were killed after a car collided with a dumper in Rajasthan’s Didwana-Kuchaman district early Wednesday morning, police said.
The accident took place around 5 am in the Nawa area. According to preliminary information, the family was travelling from Jaipur towards Nawa when their car collided with the dumper.
The deceased have been identified as Laxman Singh, 46, his wife Tulsi, 45, their daughter Sheetal, around 22, and the car driver Ramkishan, 35.
The impact was severe, leaving the front portion of the car completely mangled. All four occupants were trapped inside the vehicle. Police and rescue personnel faced considerable difficulty in removing the bodies, which were recovered around half an hour after the crash.
The bodies were subsequently taken to the mortuary at the Nawa sub-district hospital.
Nawa station house officer Suresh Chaudhary said police have seized the dumper and taken it to the police station. However, its driver fled the scene after the collision. Police have launched a search to trace the driver and are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
Tulsi was working as an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) at the sub-health centre in Kasera. The incident has left the family and local community shocked.
Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, including how the two vehicles came into contact on the road. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
