Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday extended their greetings to people across the state on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Governor Nazeer described Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chavithi, as an important festival celebrated with devotion, enthusiasm and the participation of families and communities. In a message shared on social media, he conveyed his warm wishes to the people of Andhra Pradesh and prayed for the blessings of Lord Vigneswara.
The Governor wished that Lord Ganesha would bless everyone with peace, prosperity and harmony. His message highlighted the festival's cultural and spiritual significance and its role in bringing families together.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with devotion across households and communities throughout the state.
Naidu noted that Lord Ganesha is traditionally worshipped as the remover of obstacles and the deity associated with success and prosperity. He said the festival is observed on a large scale by people from different sections of society, irrespective of whether they live in villages, colonies, towns or cities.
The Chief Minister described Ganesh Chaturthi as a major social festival that brings people together. He also emphasised the importance of preserving cultural traditions while protecting the environment.
Naidu urged devotees to continue the tradition of worshipping clay idols of Lord Ganesha and called for greater awareness about environmentally responsible celebrations. He expressed hope that happiness and prosperity would prevail in every family with the blessings of Lord Vigneshwara.
The Chief Minister also prayed for the success of government efforts aimed at the welfare of people and the development of Andhra Pradesh. He wished that the blessings of Lord Ganesha would help remove obstacles from these efforts.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy separately conveyed his greetings to the people of the state. He invoked Lord Vigneshwara and Siddhivinayaka, praying that their blessings and grace remain with everyone.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated across Andhra Pradesh with devotees installing idols of Lord Ganesha in homes and public pandals. Special prayers, rituals, devotional songs and cultural programmes are organised in many areas during the festival.
The celebrations traditionally continue for several days and can extend up to 10 days. They conclude with the immersion of Ganesha idols on Anant Chaturdashi. Devotees often take part in processions while carrying the idols for immersion, seeking the deity's blessings for prosperity, happiness and the removal of obstacles.
The messages from the Governor, Chief Minister and the YSRCP chief came as devotees across Andhra Pradesh joined the festivities and marked the occasion with religious fervour and community participation.
