CJP Leaders’ Detention Triggers Delhi Traffic Chaos

New Delhi, October 10, 2026: Several parts of central Delhi witnessed heavy traffic congestion on Saturday amid the detention of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders and heightened security ahead of the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. Increased security checks and restrictions on key roads slowed vehicle movement, leaving commuters stranded in long queues.

Police surveillance and security checks were intensified along major roads leading to the protest venue. Barricades were installed at several locations, while vehicles were subjected to additional checks. These measures slowed traffic considerably, with vehicles remaining bumper-to-bumper on several stretches of central Delhi.

The detention of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka added to the political tension in the national capital. The party had planned a demonstration at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The proposed protest prompted authorities to strengthen security arrangements around the venue and other sensitive locations. Barricades and additional checks disrupted normal traffic movement, particularly on roads leading towards the demonstration site.

Commuters faced delays as vehicles moved slowly through security checkpoints and congested stretches. The additional security deployment also affected traffic flow across several parts of central Delhi.

Authorities remained on alert as the situation surrounding the proposed demonstration continued to develop. However, there was no immediate official information on when traffic conditions would return to normal.

The situation remained under close watch as police continued security operations across the capital amid the ongoing developments surrounding the CJP protest.
