News Desk: Hindon Civil Airport in Ghaziabad will operate flights to six cities under its proposed winter schedule, which will remain in effect from the last week of October 2026 until mid-April 2027. The number of flights will be reduced to six from the 10–11 flights operating under the current summer schedule, airport officials said on Wednesday.
The winter schedule will connect Hindon Airport to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Varanasi, Nanded and Adampur. According to officials, four flights will be operated by one airline and two by another, taking the total to six flights serving six destinations.
The reduction in flight operations has been attributed to winter weather conditions and the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Officials said flight schedules are generally scaled back during the winter months because weather conditions can affect aviation operations. The regional conflict has also contributed to the reduction this season.
Mahesh, an airport official, said the winter schedule would continue until mid-April 2027, when weather conditions are expected to improve.
Six Cities to Remain Connected
Under the proposed schedule, passengers travelling from Hindon will continue to have air connectivity to major cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata, along with Varanasi, Nanded and Adampur.
The reduced schedule means fewer flight options compared with the summer months. Passengers planning journeys during this period may need to check flight timings and availability with the respective airlines before travelling.
The winter schedule is expected to remain in place for nearly six months, covering the period when fog and other weather-related challenges can affect flight operations across northern India.
About Hindon Civil Airport
Hindon Civil Airport is located in Sikandarpur, Ghaziabad, adjacent to the Indian Air Force base in Sahibabad. Civil flight operations at the airport use the runway of the airbase.
The airport began commercial operations in October 2019 and has provided an alternative air travel option for residents of Ghaziabad and neighbouring areas, including parts of the Delhi-NCR region.
The upcoming winter schedule will maintain connectivity to six destinations despite the reduction in services. Flight operations are expected to be reviewed as weather conditions improve in the spring of 2027.
