BJP president Nitin Nabin began a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh on Monday as the party steps up its organisational preparations in the state ahead of the Assembly elections.
During his visit, Nabin is scheduled to meet senior state leaders, party functionaries, elected representatives and workers. He will also participate in public programmes as part of the party’s outreach efforts.
Nabin’s first stop is Meerut, where he will pay tribute to the martyrs at the Indian National Army Martyrs Memorial and Park at Krantidhara. He is then scheduled to address a ‘Yuva Sammelan’ at the Mangalya Auditorium of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.
The youth-focused programme comes at a time when political parties are seeking greater engagement with young voters. The BJP has been facing criticism and protests over issues including alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and paper leaks, making youth outreach an important part of its political and organisational activities in the state.
Nabin is also expected to meet former party office-bearers, Members of Parliament, legislators and other BJP workers from the western region of Uttar Pradesh. The meetings are likely to focus on strengthening the party organisation and preparing for the upcoming electoral contest.
BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde, who is also the party’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge, has already been travelling across the state and holding meetings with leaders and functionaries.
Nabin’s Uttar Pradesh visit also comes amid an intensified political debate over allegations concerning the handling of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Opposition parties have raised the issue in their campaign, while the BJP continues to focus on its organisational preparations and public outreach.
On Tuesday, the BJP president is scheduled to meet prominent personalities in the state. He will also visit the historic Augharnath Temple in Meerut.
The two-day programme is part of the BJP’s broader efforts to strengthen its network at the grassroots level and coordinate preparations among its leaders and workers in different parts of Uttar Pradesh.
With the Assembly elections approaching, the party is expected to intensify meetings, public outreach programmes and organisational activities across the state in the coming months. Nabin’s visit to western Uttar Pradesh is therefore focused on both party organisation and engagement with different sections of voters, particularly young people and local community leaders.
