NBEMS Warns Against Fake NEET PG Postponement Claims

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued a strong warning against social media posts claiming that the NEET PG 2026 examination could be postponed. The medical examination body said candidates and others should not circulate false, incorrect or misleading information about the upcoming postgraduate medical entrance test.

The warning came after a user posted on X suggesting that “NEET PG postponement news is coming”. Responding publicly, NBEMS advised users to exercise caution and refrain from sharing unverified information related to NEET PG 2026.

The board also made it clear that such posts could have legal consequences. According to NBEMS, any person found posting or circulating false or misleading information about the examination may face “appropriate action” under applicable provisions of law. Following the board’s response, the user reportedly deleted the post.

The clarification is particularly significant for thousands of medical graduates preparing for NEET PG 2026. With the examination approaching, rumours about changes in the schedule can create considerable confusion and anxiety among candidates who are making travel, accommodation and examination-related arrangements.

As of August 25, the official schedule continues to list NEET PG 2026 for August 30, 2026, from 9 am to 12:30 pm. There has been no official announcement from NBEMS indicating a postponement of the examination.

The warning also comes amid a series of recent social media-related concerns surrounding the examination. On August 24, NBEMS warned candidates about posts circulating on Telegram and Instagram claiming that NEET PG question papers or other examination material could be obtained before the test. The board urged aspirants not to trust such claims or pay money to individuals promising access to question papers.

Candidates have been advised to depend only on official communications from NBEMS for updates regarding the examination, admit cards, test centres and schedule. The NEET PG admit card process has also been underway, with the board revising the release schedule earlier for the convenience of candidates.

With the exam just days away, NBEMS’ latest warning serves as a reminder to aspirants to verify every update before sharing it online. For now, the official examination date remains unchanged, and candidates are expected to appear for NEET PG 2026 on August 30.
