Faridabad, October 9: A 17-year-old Class 10 student was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the house of his female classmate in Faridabad’s Shiv Shakti Enclave on Thursday night. The incident triggered a clash between the two families, leaving two police personnel injured, officials said on Friday.
The boy and the girl, both minors, studied in Class 10 at a private school in Faridabad. While the boy’s family has alleged that he was murdered, the girl’s family has claimed that he entered their house without permission and died by suicide. The exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and police are investigating both claims.
According to investigators, the victim was a resident of Sai Nagar Part-II and had travelled to his classmate’s residence in Shiv Shakti Enclave on Thursday night. The girl’s family reportedly informed the police control room about his death, following which police personnel arrived at the scene.
The situation escalated when members of the boy’s family reached the house. They allegedly accused the girl’s family of murdering the teenager and hanging his body to make the incident appear to be a suicide. According to police, the boy’s relatives allegedly entered the house, assaulted family members and vandalised property.
Additional police personnel were deployed to control the situation. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the confrontation. It reportedly took nearly an hour for the police to separate the two families and restore order.
The boy’s body was taken into police custody and sent to the mortuary at Badshah Khan Civil Hospital in Faridabad. A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Friday to establish the cause of death and help investigators determine what happened.
Yashpal Yadav, public relations officer of Faridabad Police, said the girl’s family had previously complained to the school about the boy allegedly harassing her. According to the family, the teenager had apologised and promised not to follow her again at school.
Police are now examining these allegations as part of the investigation. The school principal, teachers and classmates are expected to be questioned to establish whether there had been any previous dispute between the two students.
Investigators are also examining the circumstances in which the boy reached the house and the events that took place before his death. The post-mortem report is expected to provide crucial information about the cause of death.
Police officials said further legal action would depend on the findings of the investigation and the medical examination. No definitive conclusion has been reached regarding whether the teenager died by suicide or was killed.
The incident has raised serious questions about the circumstances leading to the teenager’s death and the subsequent violence between the families. Police are continuing their investigation, with statements from witnesses and the post-mortem findings expected to play an important role in establishing the facts.
