New York: Amity University has launched the Amity Global Research Hub (AGRH) in New York, with the aim of strengthening research, innovation and scientific collaboration between India and the United States.
The new research platform was formally inaugurated at the Consulate General of India in New York on August 21. The launch was held under the theme “Shaping the Future through Emerging Technologies” and brought together academics, researchers, industry representatives and other stakeholders.
According to the Indian Consulate, the hub has been created to foster international research partnerships and encourage innovation through closer cooperation between institutions in India and the US. The initiative is expected to connect universities, research organisations, industry partners and policymakers working in areas of emerging technology and interdisciplinary research.
The launch also included the unveiling of the hub’s website and research brochure, followed by panel discussions focusing on multi-sector partnerships, research and innovation, and the future of India-US collaboration.
Amity University Chancellor and AGRH Chairman Aseem Chauhan said the initiative was an important step towards building a globally connected ecosystem for scientific discovery, innovation and knowledge exchange. He said the objective was to bring researchers, academic institutions, industry leaders and international partners together to address complex challenges and turn research into solutions with wider social impact.
The research hub is expected to focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, emerging technologies and translational research. It will also work towards connecting researchers and institutions across India, the US and other international markets.
Senior Amity representatives, including Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation President W Selvamurthy and AGRH Director Sandeep Mittan, were also present at the inauguration.
The initiative builds on Amity’s existing emphasis on international research partnerships. The university says its research ecosystem includes hundreds of ongoing projects and a large network of national and international collaborations.
Amity also has an established campus in Long Island, New York, which it describes as a hub for research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The new AGRH could therefore provide another platform for Indian and American researchers to work together on technologies and solutions addressing global challenges. With growing interest in fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced technology, healthcare and sustainable innovation, the hub is positioned to strengthen academic and industry links between the two countries.
The initiative comes at a time when international research partnerships are becoming increasingly important, with universities looking beyond national boundaries to share expertise, develop new technologies and convert research into practical applications.
