Twenty-five years ago, Lavanya Mahate arrived in the United States on a dependent visa, unable to work and uncertain about what the future held. Today, she is a successful entrepreneur who has built a growing restaurant and culinary business.
Mahate, founder of Saffron Valley Restaurants, Bix Bakery & Café and RISE Culinary Institute, recently shared her journey on social media. Looking back, she said she could never have imagined where that uncertain beginning would eventually take her.
