Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion has opened strongly at the worldwide box office, earning nearly ₹100 crore on its first day in theatres. The film, the third instalment in the Drishyam franchise, released on October 2 and recorded the biggest opening of Ajay Devgn’s career.
According to trade figures cited by Hindustan Times, the film earned ₹66.75 crore net in India, with its domestic gross collection reaching around ₹80.10 crore on the opening day. The strong start followed substantial advance bookings, which crossed ₹50 crore before the film’s release.
The film also performed in overseas markets, earning more than $1.5 million on its first day, according to trade sources. Combining the domestic and international collections, its worldwide opening-day gross stood at approximately ₹95 crore.
With this figure, Drishyam 3 came close to joining the ₹100-crore opening-day club for Hindi films. According to the figures reported by HT, only five Hindi films had crossed the ₹100-crore mark on their opening day before its release.
The film’s opening has also placed it ahead of several major pan-India releases in terms of first-day worldwide gross. Its reported ₹95-crore opening is higher than the opening-day figures cited for Rajinikanth’s Jailer, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, Ram Charan’s Peddi and Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1.
In the Hindi-film category, however, Drishyam 3 remains behind several major recent releases, including Dhurandhar 2, Jawan, Adipurush and Animal, based on the opening-day figures cited in the report.
The strong theatrical response was preceded by high interest in the film’s advance bookings, which opened on September 27, five days before its theatrical release. The film recorded the fourth-highest advance-booking collection for an opening day by a Hindi film, according to the report.
Drishyam: The Conclusion brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, the central character of the franchise. Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant also return, while Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Saurabh Shukla are among the new additions to the cast.
The film has been written and directed by Abhishek Pathak and continues the story established in the first two instalments. The franchise is known for its crime-thriller narrative and twists surrounding Vijay Salgaonkar and his family.
Released during the Gandhi Jayanti holiday period, the film now faces the crucial weekend ahead. Its final opening-weekend performance will depend on audience turnout, show occupancy and how collections hold after the initial release-day rush.
