News Desk: Lucknow Police have announced a reward of ₹25,000 each for information leading to the arrest of social media influencer and model Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi and their driver in connection with the death of 28-year-old cafe owner Shiva Sharma. The incident took place on October 9, when Sharma fell from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Lucknow. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, while the prime accused, Dubey, remains absconding.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikrant Vir, police teams have been sent to Delhi and areas near the Nepal border to trace the suspects. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage that reportedly captured Sharma’s fatal fall from Awadh Green Apartments in the Balu Adda area.
Sharma had allegedly been living with Dubey in the apartment for around three to four months. His mother, Ranjana Sharma, has accused Dubey, her sister and several others of assaulting, harassing and blackmailing her son before his death. Based on the complaint, Hazratganj police registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Post-mortem Reveals Multiple Injuries
According to the FIR, Sharma’s mother alleged that Dubey pushed him from the fourth floor. She also claimed that his body bore cigarette-burn marks.
The post-mortem report reportedly recorded multiple external injuries and extensive internal trauma, including damage to the lungs, liver and spleen. The cause of death was attributed to shock and haemorrhage.
However, the medical findings alone do not establish whether Sharma was pushed, jumped or fell accidentally. Police are examining the available evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine the circumstances of his death.
Investigators have also questioned two to three people close to Dubey to gather information about her relationship with Sharma and the events leading up to the incident.
Influencer’s Background Under Scrutiny
Originally from Rae Bareli, Dubey reportedly built her public profile through modelling assignments, beauty pageants and fashion events. She is said to have won the ‘Best Face of Lucknow’ title and has around 1.41 lakh followers on Instagram.
Police are also examining allegations made by Sharma’s mother that Dubey had invoked influential connections to intimidate her son and threatened to implicate him in criminal cases. Investigators are looking into these claims, although photographs and social media associations alone do not establish criminal involvement.
Sharma Had Earlier Been Arrested
Sharma, who lived with his family in Aliganj, reportedly ran two restaurants and a cafe. He had also been named as an accused in a firing incident at a Gomti Nagar nightclub on August 30. Police had announced a ₹50,000 reward in that case before the Special Task Force arrested him in Patna. He was subsequently released on bail.
The investigation into Sharma’s death is continuing, with police focusing on locating the suspects, examining CCTV footage and gathering evidence to establish what happened at the apartment on October 9.
