Abhijeet Dipke Rejects ‘Two Wives’ Claim, Says Grandfather Never Abandoned His Grandmother

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has dismissed social media claims that his grandfather had two wives, clarifying that photographs taken a decade apart show the same woman. The response comes amid controversy following his grandmother Savitribai Dipke’s death and Dipke’s allegations of mistreatment by Delhi Police after his detention ahead of a planned protest.

Abhijeet Dipke Rejects ‘Two Wives’ Claim, Says Grandfather Never Abandoned His Grandmother

News Desk: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has responded to allegations on social media questioning whether his grandfather had two wives. Dismissing the claims, Dipke clarified that two photographs of his grandmother circulating online were taken a decade apart and showed the same woman.

The controversy began after an X user pointed out differences between photographs shared by Dipke and his nephew, Vihaan Dipke. The user questioned whether the images suggested that Dipke’s grandfather had been married twice and accused the CJP leader of providing misleading information.

Responding to the allegations on Tuesday, Dipke rejected the speculation and defended his grandfather. “These two pictures were taken 10 years apart. My grandfather was happily married to the same woman throughout his life and never abandoned her,” he wrote on X.

The clarification came days after Dipke’s paternal grandmother, Savitribai Dipke, died at the family’s ancestral home in Santuk Pimpri village in Maharashtra on Saturday. She had reportedly been suffering from age-related ailments and had been unwell for more than a month.

On Sunday, Dipke shared a photograph of his grandmother on Instagram with the caption, “I am sorry.” The post drew attention following her death and amid the controversy surrounding Dipke’s detention ahead of a planned protest in Delhi.

Dipke’s allegations against Delhi Police

Dipke was detained on Saturday, hours before the CJP’s planned protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Following his release, he alleged that police personnel pressured him to sign arrest-related documents and warned that he could remain in jail for a long time.

On Monday, he accused Delhi Police of mentally torturing him and his family. He also challenged the police to release an unedited video of the alleged mistreatment.

Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Neha Yadav had earlier shared a 1-minute-and-45-second video during a media interaction. According to the police, the footage showed officers informing Dipke about his grandmother’s death and offering to arrange travel for him to attend her last rites.

After his release, Dipke flew to Nagpur and travelled by road to Santuk Pimpri village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district. He subsequently visited the cremation ground to pay his last respects to his grandmother.

The exchange on social media has added another development to the controversy surrounding Dipke, whose detention and allegations against Delhi Police have drawn attention amid the ongoing political tensions over protests in the national capital.
